Jay

I noticed this Jay in the garden whilst I was enjoying a cup of tea and toasted fruit bread with my son and grandson this morning.
The Jay was looking for peanuts that had dropped from the bird feeder. I was on tenterhooks whether I'd be quick enough to grab the camera and get a photograph and I was lucky that he stayed around for a short while. He was digging for grubs or walnuts that the squirrel had buried last autumn when I took this picture.
A really busy and productive day in the garden has seen all grass cut, paths and borders edged and a Bee House has been given pride of place on my late husbands workshop (on my grandsons instructions). Now, hopefully the solitary bees will come and share my space with me.
