Kayakoy
This is the delightful Kaya Wine House near the ghost town of Kayakoy, abandoned after the departure of its Greek population, who were forcibly repatriated in the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1923. The wine house, where we had lunch after a three hour hike, was a wonderful place; the village was unbearably sad.
After that, our travels went downhill as we climbed out of the plateau and headed down towards the coast. The downhill trend was continued as our leader got lost and decided we should be taken off by boat. But the story of 12 OAPs in a speedboat transferring to a pleasure boat in a heaving swell will have to wait ...
