Counting

Yesterday included some time packing bags in the local Co-op, to raise money for Christian Aid. Traditionally door to door collections are the way of raising their (vitally needed) funds, but increasingly, churches are finding it hard to get volunteers and it is harder and harder to get people in and polite and willing to give (certainly in my experience). So for the past couple of years we have packed bags instead. I wear a dog collar to pack, and you get some fascinating conversations with the shoppers - and always some good banter: "You do want the bread and the eggs under the potatoes, as usual etc. etc.". And today it was all counted, down to the 5 pence pieces and smaller...
