A charming book store

We took a trip out to Alnwick today and despite the impressive castle and gardens the picture I'm using for the day is from a second hand book store. Barter books is a rather large second hand book shop and somewhat of a tourist attraction which seems a little strange. But the place has a great charm and reminds you how nice a shelf full of book is, or a lot of shelves full of books. You could spend an age wandering around and it's certainly the type of place where you'd only quietly whisper you owned a Kindle.
Luke though was the only one to leave with any new books exiting with a Roald Dahl book and a new addition to his expanding Julia Donaldson collection.

The place is decorated in quotes and poems and the picture above has the train that runs along the top of some of the book shelves in front of a poem on the wall.
