Levada walk, Madeira
In case you don't know (and I didn't before I came to Madeira!), the levada system is a very extensive and complex system of water channels used for irrigation of food crops. There are over 2,000 km of these. The idea dates back about 5 centuries.
They are still critical even these days to growing fruit & vegetables in Madeira, but the levadas also provide excellent walking trails. We did one of these walks in a small group this morning. I liked the reflections of my fellow walkers in the water in this levada; the water was smooth above the little weir so the reflections were good.
