From Southern Ireland, Mikey is a grafter, and has just spent a week with me giving him a right good beasting. He's coming up for his Command Course which will determine whether he becomes a Captain or not.

As part of that, I have been play acting as different types of pilot... An inexperienced new guy, a cocky Senior First Officer hungry for command, a lazy old Captain, and various others in order to give Mike the experience of dealing with all sorts of different personalities in the cockpit.

It's called Crew Resource Management...CRM... and it's a vital part of modern flying since so many accidents arise from poor crew management.

Mikey sailed through it, even though I gave him a really hard time!
