"What shall we have with our fly this afternoon" the man of the house asked. This usually means he would like something home-baked. So, out came the girdle and a quick batch of pancakes made. It's okay - we didn't eat them all with our tea!!
(In case you're wondering - 'fly' is the term used in this part of the world for a cup of tea - usually with something to eat to go with it )
