My vertical organic garden
My vegetables are starting to get big. I just got back from the beach and they are doing great. I made these planters out of palattes and a 1/2" thick plywood. This is a great way to use recyclable materials. I live at a small apartment complex that doesn't allow me to have much outdoor space. By making these planters go vertical I can utilize the space that I do have for growing food. I planted spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, bell pepper, lettuce, rosemary, cilantro, sunflower, and corn. I have been using an organic fertilizer called Dr. Earth that is 5-7-3 in N-P-K. I haven't had any pest problems at all either so I haven't used any organic pesticides. Herbs usually protect againsts insects and pest for a small scale garden like this.
