Flotta Fun Day

Across on Flotta today to join in the family fun day and the 10k walk. There was fun for all ages; the event was really well supported with two boats crammed with folk, which exceeded the expectations of the organisers. As well as the races there was hot meals, tea and cakes, bairns races, golf, football and a bouncy castle. A great day was had by all.

Primarily the endeavour was to raise funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the other children's charity was the Crones in Childhood Research Association. Although the prime motive was to raise money it is also very much about raising awareness of these two charities which don't often get a mention.
The day had dried up by 10.00 a.m. which enabled Rendall pipe band to play for the runners at the start.
