of the family sort...

Dad and I were investigating the 5-year home of his grandfather (and mother) during the 1930's. We've become temporary history-hunters, being thwarted by the internet but also making great strides in piecing together my great-grandfather's fascinating life. We were lucky here to run into a dedicated, enthusiastic local historian who gave us a tour of the old amusement park my great-grandfather helped to run before the Great Depression sent him back toward the Mississippi.

It was very cool to walk some of the ground he walked, and see some remnants of the things my grandma and her sisters remembered from their childhood.
