First Communion Day

Hubby's 7-year-old grand-niece. Her father asked a mobile French fries and sandwich booth to 'drop by' the house and service the guests, and she immediately asked if she could don an apron and 'help out'. Absolutely no problem, as long as she was careful. It made her day. And ours. She's someone else's granddaughter but we're allowed to enjoy her company as though she was also ours. We're happy about the arrangement and give her what we would have given our own. It's easy to be thankful in such a situation; I won't mind if it stays this way.

Glad I spared my voice yesterday. Had to do an inordinate amount of chatting today but was careful not to overdo. It's been sunny, comfortably warm with just the right whiff of breeze, and just plain perfect.

Back to quiet mode tonight.
