TERNS

flew on and on above the dark blue water of the sea. Suddenly diving.
Piet Hein and I had cycled to the beach and walked along the sea, bare feet in the water and on the sand.
We saw the terns and for quite a long time we tried to take photographes of the different moments of their flight and diving.
A most wonderful sunny day, that's why we had started early and when we came back home Mischa rang up and told us she liked to join us.
We sat on the balcony and it was heaven. We went through a tekst that she had written, read to us before and now a bit of editing was needed.
Later in the afternoon Mischa and I had a break and we went to the Heemtuin in Loosduinen. How surprised we were to see that so much had grown and flowered and blossomed. We made the little tour, came back, anddid a bit of work again.
Our meal together we ate outside. A most wonderful day indeed.

My haiku:

So swift they fly and
Dive still swifter in the sea
A catch and once again

And the proverb:

Die nooit een kussen had, mist het ook niet.

Translation: Who never owned a cushion (or pillow), does not miss one.

Edit. Craig D identified the bird as a Tern and he is really right in it. Thank you Craig.
