Car Park Archeology

No not Richard the third! But I spotted this in the evening sunshine. The old car park entrance to The Shires (now Highcross) shopping centre in Leicester City Centre. The Shires was built in 1990 being extended, renovated and renamed in 2008. I like how this portal still leaves its mark on the building despite efforts to cover it. Reminding me of past visits here as a child and the ever changing nature of the urban environment. If the first incarnation only lasted 18 years, how long will the current building be kept?
