Very Still Life
Dandelion seed heads are everywhere just now and this afternoon was so still it was a perfect time to go for a close-up. This specimen caught my eye because it had a dead butterfly/moth of some sort embedded in it. Whether it became trapped in the forest of fibres or died naturally I don't know. However, it is a poignant example of nature taking its course with winners and losers. The creature had colours that would disguise it beautifully in certain habitats as it looked like decaying vegetation.
