I know this isn't very exciting, but I've been nursing this shrub along to flower since 2001, and it finally did, so it's a big thrill for me

This came from a cutting taken from a large, beautifully trained lilac in my dad's garden, which blew down in a storm the winter after he died. I'm sorry to say that the original may well have come from a cutting surreptitiously taken from the public park, as that was one of his habits! I won't ever be the gardener my dad was but I have inherited his love of getting a free plant.
