What an amazing day! Greg, Laura and I went on an incredible bike ride to Brightlingsea and back. We took the very non-direct route along the trails and back roads, winding through the beautiful Essex countryside. The trail for most of the route is sandwiched between the river and rolling fields, and it very much felt like we were on holiday. When we got to Brightlingsea, we stopped for lunch, ice cream and watched the boats for a while, before heading back and stopping at our much-loved Whitehouse Beach for a paddle. Our set of three Raleigh Max Ogre's became a bit of a running joke throughout the day; they're so old, heavy and clunky, but I feel so attached to mine. We tempted ourselves when we returned home and drove to Halfords to check out the new lightweight bikes. The lovely day was topped off with some deserved pizza and a trip to the pub for shandies and cards.
