Today's the day ........................ to build a house

We've been watching this house being built over the last year or so.

It's a huge mansion and it is situated in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Scottish Borders - the valley of the River Tweed. To be honest, we were horrified when they started to build it because we couldn't imagine that it would be anything other than a blot on the landscape. How had it ever managed to get planning permission, we wondered?

But here it is now, painted a discrete creamy-yellow colour - and looking as if it has been around for centuries. It's a real contribution to the landscape and good to see that somebody got things right .......................
