Fun Gus

This rubbery looking fungus is creeping up the tree and probably not doing it too much good. I am sure that some people would know if it's edible but I am not brave enough to try any mushrooms that don't come from a store. How about you?

Fungus and mushrooms are something I associate with damp fall (autumn) weather. This guy seems to be thriving even now. Perhaps there is more than one mushroom season?
