Cornwall, England.

Named after the Cornovii tribe who lived in Cornwall from 800BC to 800AD.

At the Battle of Higston Down in 838AD, the Cornish were defeated by King Egbert and Cornwall became part of Wessex.

90 years later, in 927AD, Wessex expanded into the parts of the country that had been run by the Danes to create England.
