Picking up Threads
There is no better way to spend a Monday morning than picking up threads literally and metaphorically with yet another friend of more artistic talents than is fair for one person to have bestowed upon them, and more to the point, bearing the weight of those creative needlework talents lightly and with deprecating grace.
Not only were the artistic threads admired, but the conversation threads were varied and wide ranging. We once had children at the same primary school so our friendship goes back 32 years and although we don't meet very often it is always good to exchange news on how these innocent little five year olds have been transformed into solid citizens as doctors, lawyers and teachers.
Her workroom is a feast for the eyes of completed and unfinished intricate thread work in all it's diversity, but for my blip I have chosen a selection of small patchwork coverlets she is making to illustrate the story of the Princess and the Pea.
