Waldkirch Hemdglunker

To kick of the Fashings week celebrations we headed to Waldkirch for Hemdglunker. This is basically a short street parade where everyone wears nightshirts or blue and white stripes. Pippi Longstocking wigs are popular, as is the make up.

The town mayor gave a short speech, we wandered along the streets with the bands and fellow participants, then everyone headed to the bars to continue celebrating by drinking and dancing to Schlager music.
