How to put it into words

Fantastic, incredible, gorgeous, breathtaking and stunningly beautiful but oh my it was hard work!

Took a walk up the Pentland Hills early this morning and broke trail the whole way to the summit of Allermuir. We went up from Boghall and here we are nearing the summit of Caerketton. Each step saw us sinking to our knees in soft powder snow and occasionally we were to the top of our thighs in drifted areas. I can't remember the last time I have seen such a prolonged spell of snow in the Central Belt. An almost cloudless sky and virtually no wind meant we could do the walk in just a baselayer and it felt so good to feel the effort required and hear the heart beating. Perfect........

Home now after a visit to B&Q to purchase a couple of 'snappy traps' because the local rodent population are obviously finding times hard and they've also taken up residence in the house. Feel bad about it, because I know they are only trying to get through the winter but I draw the line when I find a good chunk of the hall carpet missing this morning.

Back to work tomorrow. It's been a fantastic break though so all good.

Also backblipped for yesterday.
