Long distance relationship

The swans on the reservoir have had a bit of a time of it. The water level rose drastically with 24 hours of torrential rain, and the nest was about to be swamped. The cob built it up as the water rose, and people came up to the reservoir with weeds and straw as building material - the resultant nest is as you see. And now the pen is happily asleep on the high-rise nest while the cob - well he had done as men often do and swanned off to enjoy himself on the other side of the water. Hopefully, all now safe...
