Macro at ten paces

Okay so it wasn't quite ten paces, but close. To me, when I think of macro photography I think of getting up close to the subject. I think of all those times trying to photograph bees or flies on flowers where I've nearly nudged them with my lens. But this close up shot was taken from far away.

When M lent me the lens, he mentioned that on full zoom it could be used for macros. Yes, you have to wander away from the subject but it seems to work. Playing with it in the flat, I only really had a choice of houseplants and herbs to photograph.
