Rings

I'm up in Speyside for a few days break (not from the new job, this was planned for the last job) where I am going to be sampling whisky from the best region in the world and doing quite a bit of walking in training for the Caley Challenge.

I got up here just after the last distillery tour ran so instead I went for a wander of about 6 or 7 miles to get a feel for the place. I noticed there was a shortcut around the back of the Cooperage at Craigelachie so I found myself in amongst hundreds of barrels that will one day be filled with whisky. Outside the yard were stacks and stacks of the rings that will hold the barrels together and keep the beautiful spirit inside and this abstract image is one of the piles of steel rings.
