National Geographic in all its glory

I sat in library this evening to finish reading my book 'Facing up - A remarkable journey to the summit of Mount Everest' by Bear Grylls. If you get chance to read it, I highly recommend it, particularly if you enjoy mountain walking and climbing.

Anyway, after I'd finished reading I was just browsing when I noticed an oddity in the shelf stacked full of yellow National Geographics. When I took it out to have a look I was surprised to see this holographic front cover. It's an issue from December 1988, but I not sure why they cover is holographic. Whatever the reason it's pretty impressive and I'm looking forward to reading what's inside!
