Big arch-like thingy

I was in Coventry this evening. I have no idea at all what this huge double arch wotsit is supposed to be or to represent. I quite like that.

I did however know that this is one wall of the Cathedral, that the next link is to a shot of stained glass seen through etched glass and that, next to the Cathedral, is a delightful garden by some Georgian houses.
