Living in the country has some disadvantages. In Arizona it usually means living on a dirt road with associated dust and poor maintenance. It also means that mail and newspapers are not delivered to your door but rather on the nearest main road which might be a couple of miles away.

On the plus side you might be able to raise horses and chickens. Personally I prefer to give up the horses and chickens in favor of living in a development with paved roads, sewers, and city water. We also have a mailbox but it is just across our street.
