Newton's Cradle for Preschoolers

We went to a new park today - found whilst exploring what can be done in walking distance of the service garage! The park is called Sherman Oaks park or Van Nuys / Sherman Oaks War Memorial Park depending on the sign. ( I wish they would put explanations up for the names!)
It had a separate play area for really little ones - loved that it was fenced in, didn't like that it had no shade at all - possibly due to tree trimming? The second play area aimed at 4 and up was really big and wonderful. It had a great sandy play area complete with diggers and then a gradually increasing climbing area with lots of slides down and various climbing wall, nets, steps, rope pulls and so on up. It also had a shakey bridge and a shakey balance beam and a set of Newton's cradle! My daughter was super nervous about this but also determined to try it since she has no fear really.
It took two crossings with me standing nearby before she got it and then proceeded to cross many more times by herself and was so proud of herself every time.
A great piece of engineering.
