Third coffee of the evening
This afternoon was fantastically constructive, finally all the pieces were put together and sent off to mum and dad so they can find someone who remembers me so they can sign a photo so they can send it for a police check so the police can say, for the third year running, there is no mention of yours truly on their database. That must be a great money making scam for police fores around the world! Having not been in the UK for over 2 years, it seems crazy that another check and another cheque is needed. Perhaps you are bored of this so lets move on...
Once the police things had been posted, it became time to post a couple of gifts to mum and dad. Be prepared mum and dad, there should be a parcel with you in a couple of weeks or so. After that, we went for coffee to see our friends at the local international coffee house but none of them were there so we tried to make new friends with the girls behind the counter. In a town of transient workers, this is usually a pointless task because you forget who they are then leave town befor you can read their name badge. After leaving there, our next stop was to speak to Danny, featured in a previous blip, at the sandwich bar. He declared that he can now make coffee so it seemed right for me to check out his barrista skills. It was a little too soon after the first coffee but it had to be done.
On to the wandering through town, holding hands and passing time until Nomi started work, we eventually parted ways before I ran home to get my tripod and play with the manual settings on the camera. Obviously the bakery and my love were the sheltering point when the rain started, this meant a chance meeting with Aussie, or Jade as everyone else knows her. Having not seen each other in around 2 months we exchanged plesantries and talk of my new camera happened, talk of her new found coffee making skills happend... cue coffee number three in 2 hours, pictured here in comedy fashion along with the mis-wearing of my "gangsta" (as described by Danny) cap. After taking this picure, I returned home wired and exhausted before meeeting former flatmate Adam for a bottle of wine. Sitting here now, last of the whisky in hand, waiting on Nomi to come home, backblipped for the last 2 weeks (apart from 3 missing days which have photos somewhere in the new filing system), I can truly say it has been a fantastically constructive day, fuelled by giving and caffeine, topped off with French wine and Scotch Whisky. As soon as the warmth of a hug from my dream woman thaws me out, it will be a day close to perfect.
