The old timer
Mud glorious mud met us at bridge 15 where we started today. In the end JJ took his shoes and socks off and waded through whilst Sheila and I climbed the bank to try a different route, but not before getting wet feet.
No rain fortunately, so another dry and interesting day. Finished at bridge 31 in Whitchurch, picked up one car and back to bridge 15 for our car, then back to Whitchurch. Staying at The Anchor, which is newly furbished and really good.
Met this chap at one of the locks, plying his wares where boats had to stop to drop down a level
Or vice versa.
Thank you so much for yesterday's comments, much appreciated. Just going to get dinner. Steak and ale pie for me. Had a wonderful Chinese in Nantwich last night, which is a beautiful town. Breakfast took one hour to get this morning, so hotel didn't charge.
