Day Dreaming

As I drive and look out around me I often imagine what the landscape looked like before we smothered it in buildings.
St Dennis is a good example, a beautiful Norman church on top of a hill, a hill which was undoubtedly a fort before the church was built.
The churches of the villages in this area, St Stephen, St Dennis, Roche etc are identical. It must have taken some effort to get the stone blocks and building equipment up the hill!
