Pollen trousers

This early mining bee, Andrena haemorrhoa appears to be wearing trousers of pollen! I think she is nesting in our lawn.
We have a stick near the hole so the other half can mow around it!

I nearly blipped a poor record shot of the cracking Tereks Sandpiper we went to see in Lincolnshire this afternoon. A stunning little wader, that is a very rare vagrant in this country.

The bee won out though :))
