Hello Mr Magpie

Well Mr and Mrs Magpie were spooked by a cat trying, quite unsuccessfully, to catch them. The cat mewed quite loudly as they flew off.

One landed on the garden wall, and sat there looking around for a minute or two. I managed to take a couple of pictures before it flew off.

Being a single magpie, I am supposed to salute it and say something lie "Hello Mr Magpie. How's your wife?" or "I defy thee" seven times. Fortunately it looked me in the eye so I am spared that, apparently that is.
