Worth coming home for ...

As we left for our Turkish holiday, I noticed that the lilac tree looked likely to have far more flowers than last year - and wondered if they'd survive till we returned. I couldn't help remembering that May holiday that took us away while a freak gale destroyed the Spring and we came home to Autumn. But the weather has clearly not been too unkind, and the blossom looks good even on a grey day like today.
