Growing Closer

Happy birthday Luke - 25 today and if rumour is to be believed, possibly getting married in 2015. When we first met Cary, the 2 of you had only known each other for 3 months but now, 2 years on it's evident that this is a serious relationship, so I've taken one of the pictures from 2 years ago and brought you closer. Only option I have when you are on the other side of the world.

Should anyone be interested, this idea was inspired by the work of John Stezaker who basically combines portraits of different people into a single composite image. Here's a rather more radical version.

Now whilst the end result can be undeniably interesting, the fact that he does this repeatedly using old images from postcards and the like, so not even his own pictures, leaves me wondering what is the point? But hey, this is Art and Art is something that has always eluded me.
