Moody Morning
Up early and out for breakfast, it was raining with amazing clouds rolling through over the mountains. By the time we finished eating the rain had stopped and there was a lightness over the mountains with hints of blue sky over in the East, perhaps the sun would shine today after all.
I quite liked this moody scene down at the marina on Lake Wanaka with the mountains in the distance.
After breakfast we spent the day driving round Lake Dunstan, visiting areas with vineyards, old historic towns like Bannockburn, Old Town Cromwell and on the way home the historic settlement of Bendigo.
Our only disappointment was the one and only winery we wanted to visit on this trip was closed - no tasting and no lunch, nothing on the website last night when I checked just a notice on a locked gate. We went further down the road to a café and were quite contented with our lunch and in walked the staff from the winery - out for a staff lunch, perhaps it was someone's birthday - it just the way it goes, I guess.
Another late blip and another early start tomorrow, keep well blippers :)
