Flags

One thing that has been noticeable is the number of Turkish flags flying here. They are on top of many hotels and obviously on boats. For several days they flew at half mast because of the mining disaster. Two days ago it was Ataturk day here and more flags than ever were on display. This one was draped above the entrance to our hotel. It stayed up until this morning. We were told that the customary celebrations were. to held put of respect for the dead miners.
