Bi-coloured tree...
Last night I spotted this unusual tree on Egerton Road in Chorlton, Manchester. It's a Hawthorn in full bloom. Nothing unusual about that at this time of year, except they are red and white flowers on the same tree. Some branches having red, others having white. You don't really get the effect in this picture as I had to go in close so you could see the two colours.
I walked around it thinking two trees had been planted close to one another. But no, there was only one trunk and some of branches produced red and others the white. Possibly someone had grafted a white/red branch onto the tree of the opposite colour.
