Split Sunlight

I am off work for the rest of the week and Mum and I have come down to Split for a few days. It was a really straightforward drive in glorious weather.

We arrived in good time to have a stroll round town and a bite to eat. But we are saving the real walking for tomorrow. Mum will have to choose her footwear wisely!

We are now having a moderately early night, being lulled to sleep by the ambient lounge music drifting up from the pool.

It has been a long time since I enjoyed a book as much as I enjoyed 'Tender Is The Night' by F Scott Fitzgerald. I vaguely remember reading it many years ago and not enjoying it at all so I can't explain why I picked it up again to reread all these years later. But I absolutely loved it. It wasn't so much the story - there was just something about the way it was written that made me want to soak up every word.
