Coconut
An empty beach, as we are currently experiencing, allows for ample opportunity to experiment with still life compositions. During the height of tourist season, I would have to wait for people to pass in the background and for footsteps to disappear in the foreground. Today, I was able to shoot this coconut from any angle with no distractions at all. I could have shot with my wide-angle lens and still not gotten anything other than the coconut and waves in the photo. I did want the just a sliver sharp and the rest out of focus, so I used my trusty 70-200. I haven't been using it much on my full frame camera, but seeing the result here I think I will be attaching it more often in the future.
