Hawthorn
I like to take a photo of the Hawthorn blossom each year as it comes out. This seems to be a particularly good year, the blossom is quite mad like giant mop heads, and it smells so sweet
The scent of the blossom is sweeping right across the park, from the canal towpath where the hawthorn likes to grow. I love the old and twisted trunk of this tree-very characterful.
Oh and another thing, the swifts have arrived today for their summer holiday above our street, I mark their on the calendar and there is never more than a few days difference from year to year. We love to watch them on summer evenings.
