Vaskitsa
alias Slow worm.
This cutie came across on forest path in hiking route in Ruotsinpyhtää, at Kukuljärven route.
We had a bit too hot day to hike terrain so variable as Kukuljärvi. Route is really rocky and full of surges.Fun to hike, but can't recommend it for people with bad legs.
Paths were well marked and clear. 8 km route goes over 4 rock esker, between these high eskers you can find plural nature; marsh, blooming groves full of wood anemones, lily of the valleys and heath violets. Forest is mainly old, lots of spruce and pine trees, some birches and plenty of hackberries. Forests are full of life, ants and cobwebs, birds and signs of mooses.
Finally route brings you to the lake Kukuljärvi. Its a small unfertile wilderness lake between rock eskers and marshes which makes the water full of humus.
At lake we had pleasant rest watching courtship of black-throated divers .
Treeline and rock reaches to the lake, path goes round lake along its shore.
By lake is well maintained lean-to with fireplace and swimming dock.
We stopped there to eat and enjoy summer. I stirred up My Darling to dipp naked in cold lake. It was funny, because we were alone at first when he went it, but moment he dipp, two young ladies arrived to the lean-to area. So My Darling had to stay in a bit longer time he had thought .... :D
We made also short detour to a cave near. It was worth to check up, even it was one more elsker to climb.
As you can guess about length of my blip , I was thrilled to be out in the woods.
Now I'm really so tired, but it's good tiredness. Today was best day for ages in my life!
