Should it be doing that?

I assumed that the reason why the manhole cover at the end of our lane was at a funny angle was because someone had been trying to steal it for scrap metal.

Having seen it tonight doing this, I think it is at a funny angle because of the water pushing it up.

I got soaked tonight getting JJ into the car, then getting back out again to open the gate into the lane.

It was a real torrential summer downpour; and the drainage system clearly didn't like it.

P.S for anyone who was interested in yesterday's picture: the answer is Prinknash Abbey.
Apparently they had plans for a large Gothic revival abbey / monastery; but for whatever reason the second world war got in the way - and they built that god awful thing instead.
