Grey Heron

Took a blipwander by the Water, once again. The freezing temperatures mean that the birds are getting quite bold, and sure enough, I had some of the best photo ops ever. Still learning the D40, so some opportunities missed )^:

Since the river was frozen, there were many pictures of mallards, coots and moorhen doing comedy skiting about on the ice. I got a lovely series of shots of a swan coming in to land, and I put some more seed out for my robin pal.

Best of all was being able to sneak up close to this grey heron (Ardea cinerea).
