An Artist's Life

Long, Lonesome Highway...

This is one long, lonesome road...Hiway 28, the Sacagawea Byway through central Idaho on the way from western Montana to my foundry in Utah. I could take the freeway several miles to the east, but I prefer this old road. Load Tatonka, the Buffalo Truck, with music and books on CD and drive....sometimes singing at the top of my lungs or deep into the music or a book. Sometimes enjoying the silence and only the hum of tires on the road with poetry and prose bouncing around in my head. Sometimes you never see another car for hours....it's especially a huge place in the winter with white all around....enchanting. You're all alone in its universe and the universe smiles.
