Four Slants
Two of the people in this group are painters, two are cousins, one is a writer, three are blippers, all are friends. A group then, rather than a collection. We put my camera on timer and propped it on the next table.
From left: Slant (with Canon), TP, Skyroad, Pat MacAllister. In Jim Doyle's in Bray. Notice that Slant is the only one in summer gear, bless his good faith. It was a good night, a couple of drinks then back to TPs for tea and more talk. I took a shot on the prom, of this surreal BEACH HUT which I was tempted to use as the main blip, but the group shot (something rare enough itself in my photography) seemed more appropriate.
P.S.
The photos propped on the table are snaps of Pat's two boys, taken about 20 years ago.
P.P.S
This group shot naturally connects with ANOTHER, taken about 14 years ago (also a timer shot). You'll notice TP is missing from the older picture, while another friend, Danny, is absent from the recent one. If anyone's interested, the B&W picture comes with a story, a piece I wrote for my LIGHTBOX blog, about a certain art/photography/writing project we were involved with at the time: YAHOO ROAD.
