Jack was having a whinge today, I think he objected to there being more builders than usual around today.

This afternoon I went out with my husband and on the way home I suggested that we call in on his parents, it's a good job I did.

When we arrived there was a salesman there trying to sell them an alarm system. My mother in law later told me that she was getting constant calls from his company and she thought that if she invited them round the phone calls would stop.

Well we sat and listened to his 'talk' and it was like watching an episode of Watchdog. He ended up offering them a very basic system for between £1500 and £3000.

My mother in law thought that it might be worth it, so I had to step in and tell her not to order. Luckily she listened to me and the now grumpy salesman didn't argue too much. It's really scary that people are subjected to these sales tactics in their homes. .
