Sunshine After The Rain

I may moan about my garden but it does have some pretty flowers in it!
I had a horrifying experience this evening which is a salutary lesson in emptying bags rather than leaving them around and forgetting all about them.
It's bad to find last week's PE kit still dirty in the bag on the day of this week's lesson.
It's worse to find last week's swimming things festering in the bottom of the bag on the day you need them.
It's a whole world of hideous when you go to empty the rucksack from Sunday's visit to Mead Farm, reach in for the forgotten leftover chicken drumsticks and discover that it's crawling with maggots which have clearly been very happy in their home.
Oh my God.
I screamed, threw the rucksack across the kitchen and left it there for Mr K to deal with when he got in.
You couldn't have paid me to go anywhere near it!
Note to self, empty the bloody bags!!
I had a fairly lazy day today. Despite all my good intentions to be a super house sorter and cleaner I spent most of the day planning next year's Summer holiday to Normandy!
See how useless I am!
I love researching holidays! I don't normally do it this early - we're talking next July!! - but we don't normally have a big Summer holiday so I want to savour the planning!
Gites, Disneyland, Eurocamp, B&B's and Farm Stays have all been thoroughly looked into and narrowed down.
I have a rough itinerary planned and have paid a deposit got my eye on a lovely little cottage for one of the weeks.
Many of my childhood holidays were spent touring Normandy in Shirley Sherpa our fabulous campervan and I can't wait to go with my own children.
But it's over a year away, sigh, so I need to stop planning and get back to the here and now!
Miss E's swimming was brilliant this afternoon. They learnt to dive in for the first time and she loved it. Nana came to watch for the first time in ages and couldn't believe the progress Miss E has made.
It didn't tire her out however - she and Miss L are currently giggling and squealing like loons in her room. Friday night sleepover madness!
