Country drive.
This morning we looked out of the window to see a Green Woodpecker pecking in the lawn it has been raining and he has a very muddy beak, the photo was taken through a window three stories up!
We had a delicious pub lunch with Dad and Maureen and then went for a country drive along the old Roman road across Eggardon Hill, (which was a Roman Fort) near Askerswell, then along pretty narrow lanes and villages, lots of chatter and more reminiscing.
The country side is looking very green and the hedge rows are covered in wild flowers.
The other photo is of a crop that is seen around the area, white stripes in the countryside! As we passed yet another field of this we saw a tractor parked and the driver was closing a gate so I suggested we stopped and asked him about it, it turns out to be maize sown early under a biodegradable cover and is done so that it can be harvested earlier than normal.
